Welcome to Taskova ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our platform, including our website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
2. Description of Service
Taskova is an online marketplace that connects clients with qualified tradespeople ("Tradies") for various home improvement, construction, and maintenance projects. Our platform facilitates:
- Job posting and bidding
- Secure milestone-based payments
- Communication between clients and tradies
- Project management and tracking
- Dispute resolution services
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
To use certain features of our Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
- Be responsible for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
3.2 Account Types
We offer two primary account types:
- Client Accounts: For individuals or businesses seeking tradesperson services
- Tradie Accounts: For licensed and qualified tradespeople offering services
4. User Responsibilities
4.1 General Obligations
All users agree to:
- Use the Service in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Respect intellectual property rights
- Maintain professional and respectful communication
- Not engage in fraudulent or deceptive practices
- Not interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
4.2 Client Responsibilities
Clients must:
- Provide accurate project descriptions and requirements
- Honor agreed-upon payment terms
- Release milestone payments only upon satisfactory completion
- Comply with local building codes and regulations
4.3 Tradie Responsibilities
Tradies must:
- Hold appropriate licenses and qualifications
- Provide accurate service descriptions and pricing
- Complete work to professional standards
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
- Ensure any insurance evidence supplied through Taskova is current and accurate
- Comply with QBCC regulations and standards
Insurance information uploaded to Taskova is self-declared by tradies. We do not independently verify the existence, scope, or currency of any policy. Clients should review certificates directly with the issuing insurer or tradie before commencing work.
5. Payment Terms
5.1 Milestone Payments
Our platform uses a milestone-based payment system to protect both clients and tradies:
- Payments are held in escrow until milestone completion
- Clients can release payments upon satisfactory work completion
- Tradies receive payments within 14 days of milestone approval
- Platform fee of 3.33% applies to all transactions
5.2 Payment Methods
We accept payments through secure third-party processors including Stripe. All payment information is encrypted and processed in compliance with PCI DSS standards.
6. Dispute Resolution
We provide a structured dispute resolution process:
- Parties attempt direct resolution through our platform
- Mediation through Taskova support team
- Escalation to QBCC for unresolved disputes
- QBCC arbitration as final resolution mechanism
All disputes must be filed within 30 days of project completion.
7. Intellectual Property
Taskova retains all rights to our platform, including but not limited to:
- Software, algorithms, and platform features
- Taskova branding, logos, and trademarks
- Content created by Taskova for marketing purposes
Users retain ownership of content they create, but grant Taskova a license to use such content for platform operation and improvement.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
9. Limitation of Liability
Taskova provides a platform for connecting clients and tradies but is not responsible for:
- The quality or timeliness of services provided by tradies
- Compliance with local laws and regulations
- Work-related injuries or property damage
- Disputes arising from service agreements
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount of platform fees paid by the user in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, illegal activity, or at our discretion. Upon termination:
- Your access to the platform will be revoked
- Outstanding payments will be processed according to our policies
- Your data may be retained as required by law
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved through the courts of Queensland, with QBCC arbitration available for trade-related disputes.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Users will be notified of material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
